This place is totally overrated. The rooms have not been remodeled since probably the 1980s. Everything is very overpriced. One day for lunch we were served a plate of pasta with shrimp and white sauce. The entire dish was white food. There was no color, no vegetables, nothing and it was a $40 lunch per person. When I arrived, the lady checking us in mentioned a yoga class and I said I would like to do yoga, but she never followed up with me on a location or confirmation for the class and when I checked out I was charged $165 for a yoga class that I did not attend. I have 2 issues with this, first, I would expect a yoga class to cost around $20 at a resort, second, she never confirmed or even told me where the class would be held. I disputed the charge, but they still charged me. Also, about one hour after we left, I realized I left my computer charger and a little box with jewelry in it in the room. I called and asked in a voicemail if they would return the items, but they never responded, and I have not received any of my items. I have called back several times and left voicemails because no one ever answers the phone there. Basically the staff must have stolen my jewelry and charger. It was about $1000 in valuables. There are so many places in the area towards Big Bend that are so much nicer and more affordable. This place is a joke, and the people working there are dishonest. While it is located in a beautiful scenic area, it is not worth your money. I do not normally write reviews but I am so frustrated with my experience that I had to do it. I will add that this was my third time staying there because my husband really likes the place but every time I leave there I am annoyed because it is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. I’m pretty sure we ended up spending over $8000 for three nights. We did a horseback ride but that is the only excursion adding to our charges. It was me, my husband and two of our children ages 10 and 8. I will not be going back there.
