ブラック マーリン モーテル(Black Marlin Motel)

Overnight stay small hotel with 10 rooms. The rooms have a double bed however plenty of room for a queen or king bed. Shower press was good but the bathroom needs refreshing and the door wouldn’t close. Fly screen on bathroom window was broken and unable to close window. No hairdryer. The benches and side table are new and look good. Not many places to select from in this location. The lady was very friendly at reception.

This is the last place I would recommend staying anywhere in Nth Qld. The room I saw looks nothing like the photo. You would think that if two of us were struggling to open the sliding door and talking to each other about the operating hours for reception, that the person sitting behind the desk would welcome us. Lucky for us that she botched up the booking and missed one of the two rooms we booked, so we stayed elsewhere. Be prepared for a battle if you want much of a refund after they make a booking error.

The lady that was there was so helpful. Our car had broken down and she did everything she could do for us.

The Worst place ever stayed at in all our trips worldwide Book at your peril! We arrived at 4.30pm sign on door “Ring Bell” so we Rang & Rang for quite a while so in desperation found a side door same sign Ring Bell but again no response so tried the door handle and the door opened I called out “Any one there’ a couple of time they this Women came screening out “What are you doing in my house my daughter is walking around naked” Apologised saying were were only trying to get our room, She said we should have rang the phone number But I said were from the UK and dont have a Australian phone! Finally got our “Delux” room we had booked for 3 nights, on inspection it was like a converted garage! First No WiFi she said she had a problem, the guy net door allowed us to use his address. We went out came back 8.30pm No Tv so NO Wifi and now NO TV to watch. Only one chair. The main Room Light wasnt working she said she new! The sink was so small better best suited to a dolls house, and impossible to fill the Kettle having to fill with a cup. We decided one night was enough so next morning we told this Vile women we were not stopping any longer and asked for a refund for the two remaining nights $210. She said NO even when we pointed out all the problems she just would not accept it was her problem. She was totally in denial and kept on saying she had her children to see too. We Contacted ********** who apologised and offered a good Will gesture but said we would have to contact her but wouldn’t give a email address. We left and and found a place that was correctly advertised (Delux).

Our room was more of a compar**ent. Definitely wouldn't sleep 3 comfortably. Gap under the door. A/C takes ages to kick in. Bathroom barely big enough to turn around in. Bed very firm and small. No extra pillows. Items like tissues, bathroom bin, more than one small soap and some bench space would be appreciated. Reception was friendly enough.

Not quite sure how this place managed to be listed with ********** - what a horrible place. From the moment you drive up to the place with it's delapidated signs and potholed drive, disinterested check-in staff and dated rooms it doesn't inspire confidence. The only plus was that it was clean inside the room - but the bed was old with worn sheets, useless pillows and the whole place left you feeling tacky. Definitely not worth the money to stay here.

It was relatively clean and safe but somewhat small. As it was only for the night, it was satisfactory.

Happy with the accommodation. Great location. Easy walk to the Crown Hotel for dinner. Easy parking in front of the room. Stayed there 2 years ago and I can see the renovations done. Great job. Love how there are signs saying no smoking in side the room or outside the seat area.👍 Value for money.

Considering I arrived after closing staff were very accommodating. Bit noisy but that stopped around 9pm. Clean but showing signs of age. Smokers directly outside of the room I stayed in.
