ラ プレイス ランデヴー(La Place Rendez-Vous Hotel)

Our group was up here for a fishing trip. The steak was very good but the burgers were all over cooked. Fries and other sides were good. Beer was good as well. A great night and a nice place with a good lake view. Just needs to improve the speed of the food and ability to get a less cooked burger!

I always enjoy my stay at “The Vous” whether it’s for work or personal. It’s very convenient to have a restaurant in the building (looks like they did fantastic updates to the patio) the rooms are always clean and if you get a lake view the sunrises are spectacular. I did see they are planning renovations on the rooms and restaurant, and adding a gym over the next year. I think that those updates will make them a very desirable place to stay. My only caveat was that I had strangely had no microwave in my room (king jacuzzi suite). I’ve stayed in other rooms before (your run of the mill 2 double/queen beds) that had one so it was unexpected. I was the farthest room from the lobby and as I am able bodied, it was not a big deal to walk all the way down there. However, I could see this being a rather large inconvenience for someone who is not able-bodied. Overall a great stay, the staff were really friendly and I know I’ll be in again!

While room 109 was recently remodeled, there are still a number of opportunities to address: Power blinds were only half functional, as they could only be operated all the way down or up, not individually as instructed by the hotel clerk. There are exposed wires on the exterior of the room, in tandem with unsightly and unfinished construction work. Work that clearly was started several weeks if not months prior and has not been completed. My wife and I were aghast at the exposed wiring, at least a foot to a foot and a half of it. We opted to go back inside instead of enjoying a romantic evening on their patio as this simply could not be trusted. The sliding bathroom (barn style) door does not close securely, and rolls open with no input whatsoever. The flies were bothersome, and the likely source was an open trash can about 20 feet from our room door, whose threshold has a one inch gap. This gap allows flies and light from the hallway to enter the room, which was an almost unbearable nuisance. The walls of this hotel are, indeed, ‘thin’. Children can easily be heard being rambunctious and disruptive, especially in the room directly above us. (Insider tip- ask for a room on the second floor. Your sanity is worth it) It should also be noted that, because the patio is under construction (and we absolutely were not told this prior to taking possession of the room key cards), an 8 foot piece of trim fell down over night during our stay, and exposed nails were embedded in it. Not only was this unsightly, but clearly a lawsuit waiting to happen, especially if an inattentive guest or child were to step on it. I WISH I had the frame of mind to post pictures of all of this. To management’s credit, they did acknowledge my concerns and apologized.

Restaurant was a good bonus. The updates are nice. Comfortable rooms. Lakeview rooms have awesome decks and a beautiful view of Rainy Lake The parking lot is close with room for vehicles with trailers. Rooms are quiet.

Nice lake view , rooms clean, good food drink but the food and rooms are a bit pricy though. You’re paying for the lakefront view/ a bar and restaurant on site. If you’re not needing convenience of a bar/ restaurant, I’d suggest staying at the bayview motel just a stone’s throw away. There is plenty of food options in town.

Wish they offered a hot breakfast with eggs and bacon or sausage and toast. For the room price it should be included

They gave us an accessible room and it didn’t have a couch and the door to the bathroom didn’t lock or shut properly.

It's a beautiful location, hotel is a bit dated and expensive for the condition of the property. It's not bad, but certainly not new. I arrived late and was able to get some microwaveable food at the convenience store, only to realize there was no micro in the room. They have one in the lobby and one by the ice machine...so I used that and it was fine. No complimentary breakfast, so I paid for breakfast in the dining room...again, expensive for what it was. Also, water was shut off for an hour between 9-10 a.m. Maybe the desk person informed me when I checked in but I don't remember them saying anything about it, but I was exhausted and might've missed it. They also had a very small note taped to the front desk, which I missed as well. So, I slept in, only to wake to no water...my point, why not wait until after check out time? That would seem to be more appropriate than shutting the water off while guests might still be there getting ready this leave. Anyway, decent hotel but a bit pricey.

Arrived here for our stopover on the way to Red Lake. Penny was our wait person for dinner. There were 9 of us. Two had very specific dietary restrictions. She handled our group like a champ ! Giver her a raise !!! Nice clean hotel. My only complaint would be that early morning there was only one waitress for the dining room. At 7 another came on duty. The one waitress did a good job of serving everyone under a lot of stress.
