We always love staying there. Ask for a river front room.

The hotel was located pretty close to everything which was nice. When we went in the room it smelt odd and the AC was not working.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ballast very much. It is located within walking distance of many things to do, see, and eat. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and that was comforting. The bathroom, while clean, has a few unique characteristics. The sink has very little room between the faucet and sink bottom. The commode is extremely low to the ground. We found it quite odd. We would stay again requesting a water view room.

First of all, the view from our room was the roof of the convention center. We requested a river view room. The room was clean, but not worth what we paid each night. We were left with one single washcloth for 3 people. The heat did not turn off in the room. When we set it to cool and set the temperature, the heat continued to blow. It was not intolerable, but inconvenient and made for a terrible sleep. We called the front desk and they sent up a fan the size of a softball. I suppose it was the thought that counted. I was appreciative. We were told there were no other rooms available when we called.

We stayed at this hotel for one Saturday evening. The room was next to the elevator and it was loud. The pillows and the bed were uncomfortable-we woke up with back pain. No microwave or fridge in the room. Location was amazing-walking to the river boardwalk; checking in and out was easy and a hassle free and plenty of parking space. Walking distance to downtown shopping center.

Parking was Terrible, room was dirty with nasty mold caulking. Fire alarm went off for almost a hour and staff was in trained on how to handle to situation. I won’t be staying at this location again when in the area.

The stay was great up until Sunday mornings fire alarm issue. The fire alarm went off first at 4:30am, was silenced, and then went off again almost 30 minutes later and stayed on for almost an hour. Never once did staff let any resident know that it was a false alarm or anything that was going on. We all just sat outside in confusion. Staff seemed more annoyed with residents asking what was going on than them trying to settle the crowds nerves. Multiple people even packed up there belongings and checked out since nothing was being done. Great hotel and amenities, but the night staff was not there to be helpful or useful in anyway.

The stay was terrible! False fire alarm went in at 4.20 or so; went downstairs just to find out it was a false alarm. Went up again, got into bed and then the alarm went off again; and it went on for at least 30min. We could not take it anymore and went to a coffee shop that opened at 5.30AM. The whole romantic weekend was pretty much destroyed, never-mind the lack of proper rest

Why staying there on Sunday morning around 430 am the fire alarms was going off we had to evaluate the rooms so me and my wife will not be staying there again also they's needs to refundable some of our money back for enconvienter but I will let them here about that.
