Quite Nice looking hotel with some maintanance issue. Elevator out of order and smell from aircondition. The hotel promotes their pool as a selling point, which was a factor in our choice. The pool looks Nice, but the water is way to cold to enjoy it. Thus a planmed day Staying back in the hotel to rest, was a dissapointment. Breakfast buffet is Nice and has good variety.

The hotel was ok and the restaurants and staff fine. However, there were several issues with the hotel condition. - elevators not working - phones not working - the room smelled of sewage from the aircon - the heating was not working properly - the hotel is marketed as “with pool” but the pool is 4.5 feet deep and freezing cold So only a mediocre score

This is definitely a NOT 5-star hotel, perhaps a 2-star. The shower head have mold. Ripped towel and bed sheet dispensed. Amenities partially working or not at all. Marriott, what happened to the high standards?

Marriott Tuxtla is probably one of the nicest buildings in the city. However, the city's infrastructure is in need of repair. During a downpour, a distinct odor of sewage permeated our room and we noticed that the pool 2 stories down (which is beautiful) turned brown). The hallways on the floor above our level was also flooded. Also had a dead/ desiccated bug in the bathroom vanity. One more item, the hotel restaurant does not have vegetarian options and the server told us that the food is all pre-packaged. However, the air conditioner worked well, the bed was comfortable and it was a safe (but not wheelchair friendly) place to stay. The layout was also interesting, almost reminiscent of a Mayan pyramid). If your travels take you to Tuxtla, I would definitely recommend this hotel; just know not to expect the same Marriott excellence here as the traveler has come to expect in the United States

The Only thing that is not working correctly is The Wifi.

Cockroaches in rooms since the toilet wasn’t even glued on the floor correctly. Rude pool staff who ignore you and don’t bother asking if you want anything and keep going to the same customers. Bugs all over the beds even after the “cleaners” did their job. Mind you the sheets are white. Waiting 1.5 hours for utensils to arrive but I had to call three times

The property had a nice lobby and pool. The rooms were dated. A/c didn’t work. Breakfast was good but their dinner is awful . Great customer service
