I recently stayed a couple of nights at this location. It was a pleasant experience, with a minor hiccup in our assigned room.
The hotel's prime location stands out as its greatest strength. Nestled conveniently in the downtown area, it provides seamless access to a variety of attractions. We especially valued its closeness to the free streetcar transit system, conveniently located right in front of the hotel. A quick 5-minute walk led us to the Tampa River Walk, offering an abundance of dining and entertainment choices. Moreover, the proximity of the Amalie Arena next door was an added bonus.
The hotel property was gorgeous, especially adorned with festive decorations for Chris**as. The holiday spirit added a special charm to our stay.
However, our room (907) had an issue. It was a handicap-accessible room, which wasn't a necessity for us, and it had a zero-entry shower. Unfortunately, the drain didn't work well, and every time we used the shower, it caused water to spill onto the carpet in the doorway. The persistent dampness resulted in a musty smell in the room, noticeable upon entering. This moisture also degraded the carpet and led to a safety concern. I accidentally stepped on the tack *****, holding the carpet down, causing a minor injury to my foot, which, as a diabetic, is concerning.
Despite this room-specific issue, I would still recommend staying at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center.
