From the moment we arrived at the Oberoi Cecil in Shimla we were greeted with kind, knowledgeable and helpful staff: from the ***ager to the concierge, room cleaning staff, restaurant chefs and servers as well as the therapists at the spa, all staff went out of their way to provide extraordinarily levels of service. This a place with a guiding ethos: “What can we do to make your stay with us better?" To highlight specific individuals is difficult as all were exceptional. Special thanks to Chef Raj Kappur Bhattia and his team, Tenzin (at the spa) and Chirag, our room attendant who kept our suite as beautiful and tidy as when we first arrived. As well as its people, the hotel has fantastic facilities: a great restaurant with a wide selection of Indian, Asian and European dishes; the gym is well-equipped and the pool is heated (29C/84F). A definite 5 star review.

The experience was outstanding and fascinating. We celebrated our wedding Anniversary and you made it more colorful and beautiful with your great hospitality. Great location ,great heritage look and old fascinating interior which we miss during our stay in 5 star hotels. Room service was prompt and with lot of love and welcome. Priyanka thakur is very helpful and great staff of your made us feel very comfortable. She is a great asset to your hotel. Ganlas.

Services are excellent and the staff are happy to welcome us. Kitchen staff are best: Rajkumar, the main chef, excellent cook,he has cooked masala dosa for us. Dinning room staff, always there to assist. Arslan , are one of the best, smiling all the time. Reception, ladies are Well ***nered and beautiful.

One of the most memorable trip we had ..stayed for three plus weeks .... Would like to thank the whole Cecil team. From the front desk to housekeeping and dinning and the security all are so helpful and humble . You will feel at home always if you are staying at Cecil .

The best hotel I have been to. The staff are excellent, food delicious and the hotel facilities very good. For information for the independent traveller, there is a small airport in Shimla and Tibet is doable from here. Shimla is stunning, lots of wild Monkeys, history- including House of the former Viceroys of India and walking in foothills of Himalayas

Location was excellent. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and excellent, very professional. They made us feel welcome.

Amazing food and service. The people are so warm and provide world class service. The property is also very well maintained dispite being hundreds of hears old.the cultural program held every night in their open cedar area is also so nice and ambeint.

Across 8 days and staying at 4 different properties, The Cecil was different! It was meant to be a day trip to Shimla, but we decided to stay the night. Our first choice was The Clarkes. But that’s closed for renovation. Hence, The Cecil. The front office took care to guide us in to the location, advised us on the time to visit the mall, explore the locale around and guided us on the cuisine. Special mention to Sous Chef, Rajkumar Bhatia and his excellent staff! Till next time… Cheers!
