ハックルウッド ヒル カントリー ハウス(Hacklewood Hill Country House)

We just loved this hotel. The rooms the bathrooms the people, it was truly a lovely one night stay and I would love to return again for longer. Breakfast was however little disappointing and would have thought a boutique hotel of this nature would have had freshly baked breads instead of stock standard she breads and more choice of healthier options. But never the less I will return.

I only planned a stop in Port Elizabeth to stay at Hacklewood Hill Country house, due to the reviews and descriptions from other travellers that just made me want to experience it myself. When we walked into the entrance hall of the hotel, it was obvious someone had thoughtfully taken the time and expense of carefully renovating the house (built in the late 1890's as a Doctors family house) then using fixtures fittings and furnishings to transport visitors back to 1910 - 20 . The room was large, comfortable and clean the bathroom just the place for a party (sooo big). The revelation of the visit was the quality of the food, it may have been worth staying an extra night for another dinner, it was that good.

From the moment we arrived we were looked after very well. Room, food and staff were all exceptional. Dinner was to die for. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. It had the best shower we have encountered after a month in South Africa.

What a great experience. A lovely old Victorian House with bags of charm. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food excellent and very well presented. Room was large and comfortable and clean. Very comfortable reception area looking out on the lush garden. Secure parking.

We had an overnight stay in this charming old style house. A short transfer from the airport. We were enthusiastically greeted and booked in by the owner. Staff were attentive and friendly. We enjoyed a meal in their fine dining restaurant having booked it prior to arrival. The room was huge with a separate large bathroom. Very comfortable with space for all our luggage. Breakfast was good. Would recommend.

We needed an overnight after landing at PE airport and booked Hacklewood Hill Country House after reading reviews. It totally delivered – 5 mins from the airport and very secure. The room was absolutely fine, but it was the lovely staff and fantastic dinner & breakfast that really impressed with me with this place.

Former doctors family residence. This mansion is delightfully furnished and decorated. Excellent restaurant. The gardens are a beautiful place to sit and enjoy an afternoon drink. As ours was a winter time visit we did not use the outdoor pool. An early start meant missing breakfast but we were provided with breakfast take-away. Staff were welcoming and polite.

Great Guest House with wonderful/helpful staff. Very close to airport. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner was amazing. Staff very helpful answering any questions. Nice gardens with pool. Plenty of parking spaces. Good sized bedroom.

We stayed for 2 nights at the start of our 3 week holiday in SA. We received a warm welcome. Our room was lovely and the food good. It was our second visit so this time we had time to use the pool. I felt that the place could do with a freshen up compared to our stay in 2022.
