スカボロー イン(Scarborough Inn)

It was very difficult to find the room. When I entered the room the bathroom was flooded and dirty. I had to move to an upstairs unit which was very uncomfortable

No room service. TV didn’t work. No response. Virtual Ck in is very poor. No staff anywhere.

We pre-paid for a two room king size bed apartment. The TV screen "person" tried to give us a queen bed room. Finally got it switched to king but was still just a room, not an apartment like we paid extra for. TV in the room was broken, bed sheets were dirty and hot water in the shower ran out after a few minutes. We live locally and just wanted a fun night away. I promise you we will make sure everyone we come in contact with knows how poor this place truly is. There is too much competition on the OBX for any place to be this crappy.

Property was clean and quiet. The room is very dated, which I did not mind. There is no staff for questions, my room did not have a hair dryer and when I called I was put on hold for them to call someone else to ask if one was available. There was not, so just make sure to pack yours! It was overall a nice stay.

This was probably the worst stay we’ve ever had at a hotel. Check in was different (you check in at a kiosk with a remote person) but was ok. Our room was #1 and had holes in the wall where possibly some things used to hang. The bed was about 40 inches high with no way to climb in. The mattress was a brick as were the pillows. The floors had paint all over them. You could tell where they had closed up doorways with nailed in plywood. It was very cute outside so we were shocked when we saw our room. Would not recommend to anyone.

Once in the room, we found it pleasant, clean and comfortably warm. Motel is easily accessible to downtown Manteo. Darrel's restaurant and McDonald's are across the street. Our biggest complaint is the check in process at Scarborough is done totally by computer. There is no personal contact. Anyone interested in staying at this place should be aware in advance. Our check-in was adequate. But our checkout was non-existent. We tried to checkout about 9am. The computer was not functioning. The phone number on the door went to voicemail. So we left our room keys in the room and bugged out.

The property was convenient to eateries. No people on duty except through kiosk. The window air conditioner was so loud it kept us awake. Luckily found a maintenance man who bought a part to fix the toilet that stopped flushing. We were booked for 2 nights but stayed only 1.

I dont usually give bad reviews as a practice but this one needs telling. We were not pleased with the kiosk screen clerk. It seemed so impersonal for starters. The ladies there were professional and ptocessed us for the stay while we were there. We have stayed there before in the hotel building and it was fine, lovely with antiques and well functinal rm set up. I specifically asked for a apt well in advance and we were on ti.e for check in. I requested one away from the noisy street. Do not stay in Apt. 11 as it faces the busy street. No smoke detector as wires were hanging from the open spot of the ceiling. The toilet handle broke at first use. They did come out and fix it withib 30 minutes so credit due them for that. The mattress should have been updated as my husband and I rolled toward the center of it. There is a sink in the corner of the bedroom. Odd. The room just wasn't functional at all. TV wasn't working. I slept on the love seat couch in the living room due to the center rolling of the mattress. They had a humidifier in the bedroom that ran all the time and made the room quite stuffy. The Tv was place on a dresser between the wall walkway of the bedroom and living rm. So strange. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again. The price was outlandish for the lack of quality we got. Please do your homework and check out alternatives at this business and make sure you get a place worthy for your hard earned money.

It was tough checking in since no one was at the hotel, we talked to a computer. Had some problems with the TV but all and all the place is nice. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
