Very friendly host. Location is beautiful. Very neat and clean. I will stay there again. Microwave and coffee available in the room. Secure parking. Information map of Lüderitz area. Hot shower. Nice bed.

Very nice welcome and super friendly help during our stay. Great location with ocean view, large windows with lots of light. State-of-the art apar**ent, very clean and modern. Safe place in walking distance to town center. Thank you very much again, we loved our stay at your place!!

The place is OK, although pictures can be deceiving because the room we had was on the ground floor, literally on the street - not very pleasant. However, what really disappointed us was the extremely unfriendly attitude of the owner Retha. After a 14 hour drive from Windhoek and a car breakdown, we arrived in Luderitz around 8 pm and headed directly to have dinner as we had not managed to even eat during the day (restaurants in Luderitz close very early FYI). However, Ms Retha called us and told us that we have to do the check in immediately because her husband is travelling the next day, so they are unwilling to wait even for 30 minutes. She said that otherwise she would not be able to check us in (this is happening at 20:30). We had to leave urgently in the middle of our dinner so that we do not stay in the street although this was a prepaid booking. In the end we stayed hungry. I am a very experienced traveller and have been to Namibia 3 times, but this was the first time I experienced this kind of unwelcoming attitude, to the point of bing disgraceful. Not only in Namibia, but in the whole world. This is the complete opposite of what the idea of a hospitality business should be!! Shameful.

This apar**ent is well equipped and you can nicely prepare meals there. The big bed is really comfortable. I especially liked the spacious shower, even lotion and soap are there. What I enjoyed every day was opening the curtains in the morning and enjoying the view over the sea, sometimes with fisherboats. The owner is helpful and friendly and organized transfers/taxi.

Self-catering flat with everything you need in this windswept town. Clean bathroom, comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen. I only stayed for one night but could have easily stayed longer. Friendly and helpful owners. Location is outside the city center but the entire town is very small which makes it easy walking distance.

Island Cottage is situated on an excellent spot on Shark Island. With the see on your doorstep we enjoyed the view from our room and with almost no traffic we had a pleasant night's sleep. The room is well kept and equipped with everything you need. We strongly recommend this accommodation.

If your plan is to explore Lüderitz and its surroundings all day, then this is the perfect place to stay! Our room had a beautiful view of the entrance to the second lagoon - This includes a beautiful sunset (weather permitting). While we were there it was full moon, so we really had a special scenery over the water early mornings. We saw quite a few people walking to the restaurants at night, so it seems to be very safe. The wind is probably the only factor to keep in mind! It is also quite quiet on this side, not too quiet, just peacefully quiet! The room was clean, with comfortable bedding and towels. The bathroom was just very dark (even with the light on), but it didn't bother us too much. There's a kettle, microwave and a few other self catering items which we didn't use. Our room didn't have a 'social area', but we also didn't need one for this trip, but if we did it might've felt a bit cramped.

Lovely place, lovely setting and view. Had everything we needed, including an informative booklet about the area. It's also close enough so one can walk into town to enjoy the sights and sounds of Luderitz. And if you'd like to book anything, Island Cottage can advise and arrange this as well.
