There is no place quite like the Brown. A trip back to the past ! The service from Valet to Bartender is top notch !old

This is a top tier hotel that we’ve stayed at many times and always received stellar service. This time the person that checked us in was less than welcoming and made us feel like we were inconveniencing them, which is not the type of service we’ve come to expect from The Brown. Later that night our group of 8 and another smaller group were seated in the lobby to talk and a staff person told us we had to leave the lobby because the bar was closing. We weren’t in the bar and weren’t being particularly loud. There are no other public gathering places and none of our rooms could seat 8 people comfortably. None of our party had ever been asked to leave a hotel lobby and both groups were very surprised that this happened at a hotel that is normally so accommodating. Hopefully the hotel will address the issues and our next stay will be back to the usual standards.

The Brown Hotel had excellent customer service! The room was spacious and clean and the history was so cool! The perfume coming out of the elevator was rough (we don’t do scents on anything) but otherwise we had a fabulous time!

A beautiful historic hotel, that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. Charming lobby, restaurants and bar area. Had one of my favorite breakfasts at the J Grahams' Cafe. Covered parking is available. Overall the hotel was very nice and clean. A few areas in our room needed dusting, but with so many moldings, and baseboards etc I can see how some could get missed.

The Brown hotel recently celebrated 100 years of service, and it has good reason. The staff are classy and professional, the period furnishings are exquisite, and the amenities are top-shelf. I cannot speak to the full bar and restaurant (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) or the gift shop, which I was not able to visit. The rooftop garden is apparently for parties and special events, since it is outdoor and had a sparse complement of only the hardiest of plants. An overall 5-star experience.

Classic hotel, friendly staff, great bartender. Just love the Brown. Our heat wasn’t working too well. Wouldn’t prevent another stay though.

Room was 101 years old, nice but a bit musty.... A room air freshener would have gone a long way. Nice tho, private and pleasant. Staff very polite, will stay here again.

Everything about the Brown is cozy elegance. Service is superb but never stuffy. My absolute favorite place to stay
