ポーラー ロッジ(Polar Lodge)

Not a lot of options in Kangerlussuaq. Wanted to stay in airport hotel but was full. Lucky to get this place in high season. Basically a hostel - very small rooms and shared bath down the hall. Room and bath were clean, although they ask you to ***** your bed before you leave which is annoying when you are rushing to catch an early morning flight. Breakfast buffet is minimal. Two minute walk to airport.

I was on a planned not inexpensive trip to see what Greenland had to offer for the holiday maker and while the Hotels in Nuuk and llulssat came out on the pretty good side the Polar lodge was an old mission hut a few yards from the main International airport at Kangerlussuaq and having walked the dusty and broken trail to the reception which on arrival was greeted with name sign yr in room 4 I arrived at my Euro 145 room - no TV ,no bathroom and two single beds that had seen better days - in short I was in shock - I had to stay no where else around but if this is what high end tourist s are being offered then the tourist board needs to think again - thank god it was only one night - but I noticed that the management also wants y to do some housekeeping before y check out by 0900 - all the hotels want y out by 10am - what is it with them ? They indeed have a lot to learn - I for one won’t be back - expensive and in general poor quality- yes the scenery is wonderful but so is Iceland and while just as expensive they are miles ahead Sorry Greenland y were in General a disappointment

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Bathroom, although down the hall was spacious and with hot water

This accommodation exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable and quiet with rooms overlooking the airport. Clean with three toilets and a shower (in our area). Breakfast of cereal, breads, toaster, condiments, coffee and juice. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Free Wi-Fi which has been helpful. We’ve walked into the township, had dinner at the airport cafe which is open late or there is a Hotel restaurant at the airport, we have also had dinner at the Rowing Club and a complimentary bus collected us from Polar Lodge. The supermarket is located across the road if you want to cook your own meals here and there is a small shop close by where we bought a hotdog for lunch.

Check-in normally frim 14:00 onwards, but ithwy starte already at noon!

It's 4th time I was staying in this hotel, and I like it, the area is always great, just 50 meters of walk from the airport. But the bed felt weird and kinda bit uncomfortable, but I didn't notice it after few minutes, and the quilt was extremely warm, even it's April.

Overall exceeded my expectations. It was clean and had fast internet. LOTS of water pressure and hot water in the shower. Only negative is that walls were thin and you could hear neighbors.

Right next to the airport, this is really convenient. Staff was helpful, room basic but very nice.
