In short: PERFECT. An ideal location to relax. Cozy villa with a very stylish interior. Huge garden, swimming pool, picturesque beach and great cuisine! We spent almost two weeks at the villa and were absolutely delighted. Amazing staff: very attentive and friendly guys. Ruwan, Donald and Thanuka Perera, special thanks! And a very touching surprise on the last evening - dinner under the stars. I will definitely come back here again. This is probably my best vacation ever

Best stay in Sri Lanka by far. Large and well equipped room. Excellent chef, friendly staff and right on a very quiet beach. A great place to relax for a few days. We had the Master Bedroom with private plunge pool which was well worth it. The food and drinks are on the pricey side, but the food at dinner was absolutely delicious.

Thank you so much for the best place to stay in Sri Lanka! We enjoyed every little detail, the rooms were so clean and amazingly decorated, cleaning and towel changing was done every day. The breakfast was delicious, the pool, the views and the 🏝️ We also had few dinners there and the food was very tasty! Definitely a must stay in Sri Lanka!

We stayed at the Kurumba house which was perfect for our family of 4. We loved the large and spacious patio, huge lawn and privacy from the rest of the estate. Having a butler was also very convenient. The Kurumba House is perfect for families or for two couples, a point to note is that the rooms are not interconnecting however that wasn’t an issue for us. The rooms and interiors in general are very lovely and well appointed. Mawella beach in front is spectacular, not a surfing beach, but the kids had plenty of fun body boarding and there are free boards on site. Food is excellent, breakfast especially was of a high standard. Cocktails were well made. They can also organise tuktuk visits to nearby sights like the Hiriketiya beach or blowhole. A few points that would make this place better 1) food prices are on the high side for the kids menu. For eg a margarita kids pizza cost more than the regular pizza 2) the Sri Lankan food was a tad repetitive due to the accompanying vegetable sides being constant. Maybe this is a feature of the cuisine but more variety would be nice 3) proactive suggestions from staff regarding best times to visit places would be helpful. For eg: we visited the blowhole and the staff helped organise transport but unfortunately we didn’t know that the timing of our visit coincided with low tide, and hence we couldn’t really enjoy the spectacle at all. These small touches from staff would go the extra mile in making this place even better

The property is beautiful with such attention to detail. The location is perfect, like a little paradise. The chef Deleep was brilliant, as were all the food and beverage staff we met, so welcoming and attentive. The room was faultless. Well done Taru Villas.

It was a splendid experience at the beach environment which was a serene place to enjoy with the family. The villa is neat & tidy which is very well maintained with the support of the attentive & friendly staff. Such a lovely clean beautiful place with such good & warm staff & awesome food with big portion sizes ,lovely ambience and very clean. Had very nice time. Would love to go back. It definitely must go to place!

A calm and relaxing oasis with the backdrop of the sea and ocean. This small hotel is just so relaxed and airy and the sea breeze and ocean backdrop is so liberating and welcoming after an inland tour of the island. The beach walks here are splendid - it is a quiet yet vast beach for walking and photos. The staff here are so welcoming and relaxed; and just let you laze into your days with no demands or queries.

We just spent two nights in this boutique villa/hotel right on the beach in Mawella. The room was lovely with a very comfy bed. All the furnishings in the Villa were very tasteful and the position, right on the beach, was perfect. But what really made it was the staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful and lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The food cooked by the chefs was incredible and totally delicious. We loved our short stay at this special place and would thoroughly recommend it. Very unique individual level of service you rarely get anywhere.
