Traveled to Chicago with husband and our 2 kids for vacation. Beautiful, fancy hotel and right downtown close and accessible to shopping, restaurants and more. Felt very safe inside. Room Key card required to access elevators. Our room was very nice. 2 room suite so we had our own rooms.
What you need to know before you stay: The hotel has no parking. Valet only, which is $75 per day. I didn’t see this anywhere when I booked and wish I had known.
Breakfast is NOT included in your stay. $31 for buffet & $5.50 for a regular cup of coffee, there is a very limited menu. Although the food was delicious, a meal was $100 for our family of 4. This adds up over a 5 day stay. (And that’s just For just breakfast) We waited 30 minutes for service in the lounge one evening. The manager did comp our drinks for waiting so long.
I don’t recommend some of the restaurants nearby. (Like Fridays, Dunkin etc.) The homeless (maybe gangs?) hang out out in front & inside smoking/loitering etc. We did not feel safe.
This hotel does have a hot tub. (This was one of the reasons I chose it.) It was absolutely filthy with foam and scum. There were so many people and many small children in it at all times. Our kiddos did enjoy the pool but there were rarely any towels stocked the the pool area in general was not clean.
The beds were uncomfortable. The pillows were absolutely terrible/ hard as a rock. Was expecting to have a microwave in the room. There was a tiny fridge but no microwave.
