シェルブールのホテル

tout était très bien dans cet hotel. Adresse à retenir lors de mes prochains déplacements à Cherbourg. Emplacement très calme mais un peu du centre de Cherbourg. Petit déjeuner simple mais suffisant et bon.

We opted for IBIS budget because we needed accommodation for the whole family, 3 adults and 2 (adolescent) kids. They gave us two double rooms, for a reasonable price (around 64 eus/room). At first glance, the rooms look like those of a hospital, which is not the best. However, they turn out to be comfy, fine for one-night stop-and-go staying. The hotel is very basic but very clean, reasonably comfortable, and cheap. Located outside the city, it is very close to a McDonald's (just in front of the hotel), a supermarket, and a boulangerie (3' walking). Breakfast should be around 7 eu each, but we did not try it (we opted for a couple of croissants from the afore-mentioned boulangerie. The entrance is side by side with that of the bigger brother IBIS, of higher level and more costly. Doors tend to slam when released, which may be bothering if you wish to sleep longer in the morning. Also, ground-floor room' window looks directly into the parking lot, so that you can't open the curtains if you want to maintain privacy. Upper-floors rooms should be better on this respect.

Hotel à la hauteur de ce qu'on attend d'un B and B ! Les chambres sont conformes. Salle d'eau également. Literie confortable. Les petits dej en revanche sont excellents dans cet hôtel. Nous sommes des habitués de cette chaîne et le petit déjeuner a été le meilleur de tous. Des croissants et pains au chocolat sortis de la boulangerie et non pas congelés comme cela peut être le cas dans d'autres hôtels. Par contre il a été difficile d'obtenir un bonjour de la part du personnel qui parlait chiffon dans la salle à manger. Mais à force de... on l'a eu !

A one night stay in this property , a pretty typical Ibis property…. Location is great for one night , outside the town , there is a Mc Donald’s nearby as well as a supermarket. Room is similar to most Ibis properties, I still find the set up and colour scheme a bit prison like … but it was quiet , had good temperature control and a nice enough bed and adequate bathroom facilities, it has the added benefit of a curtain to separate the sink etc from the main room if there are two sharing . . There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room .. the WiFi worked well. Staff were helpful and the breakfast in the morning was good . A good choice for a short stay in Cherbourg.

I have been staying here for 10 years, twice a year for business reasons. the hotel is generally clean and comfortable. after staying in room 115 this time, i was disappointed to see the shower doors gone. on reporting this, i was told they had fallen off, and not replaced. this made showering very difficult. the view out of the windows is of somebody elses apartment opposite. it is generally quiet. a good nights rest was had. the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen served its purpose. the staff are generally friendly, and a special mention of marion on reception. always smiling. the price has risen over the years, and did reflect good value, but i fell that the price doesn't reflect the level the hotel is at now. there is better out there for the same money, but if it is convenience you need, this is the place. i will return next year. thank you. i have also copied it in french, and hope it translates as it should. Je séjourne ici depuis 10 ans, deux fois par an pour des raisons professionnelles. l'hôtel est généralement propre et confortable. après avoir séjourné dans la chambre 115 cette fois-ci, j'ai été déçu de voir les portes de la douche disparues. en signalant cela, on m'a dit qu'ils étaient tombés et n'avaient pas été remplacés. cela rendait la douche très difficile. la vue par les fenêtres est celle de l'appartement de quelqu'un d'autre en face. c'est généralement calme. une bonne nuit de repos a été passée. les lits étaient confortables et la cuisine remplissait sa fonction. le personnel est globalement sympathique, et une mention spéciale de marion à la réception. toujours souriant. le prix a augmenté au fil des ans et reflète un bon rapport qualité-prix, mais j'ai pensé que le prix ne reflète pas le niveau actuel de l'hôtel. il y a mieux pour le même prix, mais si vous avez besoin de commodité, c'est l'endroit qu'il vous faut. je reviendrai l'année prochaine. merci.

Assez déçue en voyant les très bons avis sur l’hôtel. L’hôtel reste quand même très vieillot. Arrivée dans la chambre toute petite au rez de chaussé, j’ai la surprise de voir la porte qui donne sur l’extérieur donnant à 1 mètres du parking, ouverte avec l’eau de pluie rentrer dedans, autant vous dire avec un temps dehors digne d’un mois de Novembre, la chambre était plutôt froide. De plus, l’idée de prendre un hôtel, m’évite des réveils très matinaux, réveillez à 5h30 par le bruit des autres chambres avec réveil, éternuements, mouchage de nez, lavage de dents et je vous passe toutes les conversations qu’on entend. Comme l’impression qu’ils étaient dans ma chambre. Certes le personnel est très sympathique, mais ce n’est pas la chose principale que l’on recherche quand on réserve un hôtel. C’est quand même bien le confort et le CALME.

The staff here speak good English and are very warm and friendly with a good sense of humour. The hotel is quite old fashioned. Whilst clean, the room was cramped and the bathroom was akin to a walk-in wardrobe In dimensions. The shelves in the bedroom were loose and wobbly. The WiFi only worked on the ground floor of the building. But for the price, one couldn’t grumble too much. It was an adequate stay. Be aware that the traffic noise from the street outside is very intrusive and doesn’t calm down until late. Apart from that, you leave feeling you have had a genuine French experience which you don’t get in a chain hotel.
