ハイアット プレイス アテネ / ダウンタウン(Hyatt Place Athens/Downtown)

This property is nice. It’s quite. My favorite thing was the restaurant and bar downstairs. After a long day at a convention, I did not want to leave the hotel. The food was really good and the cocktails exactly what I neeeded.

The staff were welcoming and personable, very helpful and accommodating. The server at the in house restaurant along with the chef and server at breakfast were terrific. The decor inside the hotel was appealing and clean. My daughter and I worked out in the gym and it overlooks the street into downtown Athens, was very nice and offered a good variety of equipment and weights. It is a wonderful spot to stay especially if you want to be in walking distance of great shops and restaurants. The breakfast spread was impressive and delicious. Our group along with other patrons were able to enjoy our coffee while seeing the runners who were participating in the Marathon go right by us. Very comfortable setting. Beds were great and the rooms were well laid out. Wish I had gotten names of the staff so I could give them the honor they deserve. Will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay as we dropped our son off at UGA. Enjoyed the ease of walking around downtown. Great breakfast!

Loud banging kept us up all night, sounded like something was coming apart on the roof. Constant Metal banging all night.

Parking deck full but still charging you to park without spaces to park in! Only using two of the elevators even during check out time following a sold out night. Took 30 minutes to get an elevator down with enough room for a luggage cart. Said the other elevator was service only! Ridiculous!

My family and I were down for a cheer competition. Check in was quick and easy! The room was really clean and comfy. The front desk staff was extremely nice and provided us with anything we needed. Breakfast was great! Not to mention the hotel was walking distance from the classic center so it was easy access to our event. We will definitely stay here again if we ever come back that way!

The hotel is very nice, my room was clean, comfortable & the sheets were very soft (very important to me). However, I wasn't able to charge any electronics because of the lack of any USB socket (common now in hotels) & I didn't have a converter plug. Otherwise, a splendid stay. Really enjoyed the food & atmosphere at the Rooftop bar.

The parking garage is ridiculous! There's about 9 spots, 90% of which are for compact cars, where you can park before checking in, because you need the room key to get in the garage. VERY tight spaces with 2-way traffic. NO signage directing you to the lobby & the lobby isn't labeled at ALL. The conference center has Hyatt Place on the building & doors, so logically, you'd think that's where the front desk is. But it's in a completely different building. You have to go to the conference center to get to the parking garage. The man that checked us in gave NO information regarding the location of the elevators, the way the parking works, nor about the free breakfast. Beds are hard. Pillows are pancakes. Room was spartan...just bare bones. The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the breakfast. I wouldn't stay here again.

I'd given up all hope of finding any hotels with a "pre Covid" standard but Hyatt thank you for renewing my faith! From walking in the hotel, it was clean, bright, nicely decorated and the three staff on reception were all smart and professional. The young lady who helped us was an absolute STAR, I don't recall the last time I was greeted by such a happy, friendly face. It was a joy to deal with her. She happily changed our room to one with a tub. The room didn't disappoint either, it was lovely and clean, fresh, fully stocked, just what you want. I don't recall the last time we stayed in such a nice hotel, we paid more the night before somewhere not even close. I will be booking Hyatt in future. Kudo's to you and your staff, you deserve every success. Promote that young receptionist before you loose her, she was a joy!
